First Family Fun Night at the YMCA
94 parishioners from 25 families took over the YMCA to participate in a variety of fun and some times crazy activities. Kids from infants to 17 years of age joined in with moms and dads in events like “battle of the bottles”, “bombardment”, “box ball”, “pickleball” and “people on a string”.The pool was open for family fun swim and inner tube water polo. Club Vice President Ricardo Ortiz admitted that “he attended with some hesitancy but had a great time because the way the events were organized you found your self having a ball with your team mates just participating for the fun of it”.
It could not have been done without the help of great Men’s Club regulars like Carl & Lorraine Rolandi (cashier and Chief of Scoring), Jim Main (Official Events Score Keeper), Don Tokarski, (Food Services Manager), Andy Maxwell (Pool Event Manager). Ray Gier and Frank Richard (event coordinators); and our Voice of the OLA Men’s Club Rolando Pasqualli for directing the warm up games.
A special thanks goes to our Co-Captain couples Dobsons, Galligan’s, Cooke, Condon’s, Haupt, Morse’s. and Mother’s Club Board Members Karen Lowart and Theresa Stoye. These folks took the big risk of captaining a team for events they knew nothing about. But because of their willingness to lead fellow parishioners into a fun zany night of activities close to 100 parishioners found out how much fun it was to play as individual and parish family.
In addition to the families listed above other families participating included: Talmadges, Nantells, Goyettes, Corsettis, Philips, Riders, Enes, Wards, Thomas’s, Hollands, and Williams. So make sure and plan to join in the fun for next year’s Family Fun Night!
