Pastoral Council

Role  

o  Be the "keeper of the vision" 
o  Help the Pastor define and address the long-term spiritual priorities for the Parish

Purpose

  1. To identify and prioritize spiritual and community needs and growth for the OLA parish.  This will be accomplished through outreach to parishioners and OLA Council Executive Board members.
  2. To organize identified needs into objectives and recommendations in the form of a 3-5 year plan for presentation to the OLA Pastoral Council Executive Board.
  3. To communicate approved objectives to the Parish Community and act as a liaison between the Parish Community and the Pastoral Council Executive Board.

Meetings

Meetings of the Pastoral Council are held the last Tuesday of the month (with exceptions) at 7:00 p.m. in the Rectory.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
